Busing

In partnership with Alliance Bus Canada, Balmoral Hall School busing service is offered on seven routes throughout Winnipeg and is available for students enrolled in Kindergarten to Grade 12.

Given the range of distances, it is not possible to guarantee door-to-door service. As well, the length of the bus ride to school will not always approximate the length of the same trip by car. However, we will make every effort to optimize routes so that the service is as convenient and efficient as possible.

We will strive to continue expanding the number of locations and/or routes so that we can accommodate our families while providing a safe and efficient mode of transportation to and from school.

BUSING SERVICE INFORMATION

  • For real-time information about busing delays or other issues during the school year, please download the EDULOG app.

  • General queries and questions can be answered by calling the dispatch centre at (204) 489-3200. Students should be at the bus stop five minutes before the scheduled arrival time. If the bus is 10 minutes late, please contact dispatchers. If your child has not arrived home at the end of the day when expected, please contact dispatchers.

  • Concerns or issues of a critical nature should be directed to Brett Harris, Vice-President of Operations, at (204) 489-3200 or brett@tonysteamtransport.ca.

  • Students are expected to act in a responsible and respectful manner on the bus and at bus stops.

  • While riding the bus, all students must always wear their seatbelts.

  • Per province-wide standards, all students and bus drivers will be required to wear non-medical masks on school buses. Masks should be put on before loading and only taken off after off-loading if no longer needed (such as when returning home at the end of the day). Families must pre-screen their child(ren) for symptoms prior to riding the school bus. All of our school buses have a seating plan, and all students must adhere to these arrangements. Students are not permitted to move to a different seat while they are being transported. All of our school buses will be sanitized before and after each route.

  • Province-wide standards are that cancellation of school bus service will occur when the combined temperature and wind chill is equal to or greater than -45 °C. Parents will receive an alert via the EDULOG app, text, and/or email.
