Dear Alumnae,

My name is Joanne Pham, and I have been attending Balmoral Hall since Grade 7. I am a persevering, resilient student, part-time retail worker, dancer, singer — you name it! I have big aspirations to become a nurse after graduating high school.

I wanted to become Alumnae Prefect not only because of the Class of 2022 Bursary Fund involvement and the acknowledgement of special awards named after alumnae, but also to learn more about our Alumnae Association, community connections, and school history, along with, most meaningfully to me, sharing emotional moments at our Doll Assembly in Spring 2022.

As Alumnae Prefect, my goal is to ensure that students feel supported in connecting with alumnae, which truly is special and can help students in so many ways.

To me, the value of the alumnae network is powerful. While alumnae keep a piece of Balmoral Hall School with them, they are able to help current students, motivate us, and inspire us to learn from those who came before. I have enjoyed all the conversations I have shared with graduates, but, especially during these hard times, reaching out to strong women in different fields creates countless opportunities for students as meaningful bonds are made.
