Laura (Lemon) Wetton '03, P '34 and '37

After graduating from Balmoral Hall School as a lifer, I majored in Finance and Accounting at University of Manitoba’s Asper School of Business and received my Chartered Accountant (CA) designation in 2011. I have a background in public accounting as well as internal audit and am Manager of Stakeholder Services and Engagement at Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) Manitoba.

I have two daughters at Balmoral Hall, Kiera, in Grade 2, and Alina, in Junior Kindergarten. Recently, I retired from Balmoral Hall School’s Board of Governors (2014 – 2023) where I assisted with financial oversight and analysis in my role as a member of the finance committee. I was thrilled to be asked to join BH Foundation’s Board of Directors to continue to give back by fostering a secure future for the school. 

My daughters are fourth-generation students at Balmoral Hall after myself, my Dad (when boys attended Kindergarten), and my Gramma, along with other family members, as well. I see how much value BH Foundation adds by opening doors to girls of promise through endowed bursaries. A strong endowment is important in ensuring financial sustainability so that Balmoral Hall School continues to provide an incredible education to all students, no matter their financial situation, for many more years to come.
