REMEMBERING EMMA

Last weekend, our BH family suffered a tremendous loss with the passing of Emma Machado.  We have taken some time to process what has happened and to comfort those around us.  Now, on this day when we celebrate her life, we want to share how important Emma was to us.
Emma had a smile that was infectious.  She could light up a room with her energy. She was incredibly witty, always was joking with her teachers and friends. She cared deeply about the world around her and wanted to help make it a better place.  She was passionate, driven and she fought for what she believed in.  Emma had a way of convincing you to see all sides of an issue. She was an important part of our community service projects, giving her time and hard work travelling to various countries to help support local communities. Her love for children was evident through her work with Junior School students, and you could see how they loved her back.  She was kind, respectful, a good friend to others.  She was beautiful, and we will miss her.
