Social Responsibility Panel
Isha Khan is a human rights lawyer and is currently the Acting Executive Director and Counsel for The Manitoba Human Rights Commission. She has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba and obtained her law degree from the University of Victoria. She is called to the British Columbia, Alberta and Manitoba bars. She practiced as a labour and employment lawyer at a national firm in Calgary before returning to Winnipeg in 2007. She is passionate about human rights education and regularly presents to university students, businesses and other organizations about discrimination and human rights issues. Last year she was a sessional instructor at the University of Winnipeg’s Global College teaching human rights. In the not-for-profit community, she has worked as Director of Organizational Development and counsel for the United Way of Winnipeg and now sits on their Board of Trustees and Community Investment Committee. She is also actively involved with the Canadian Council of Muslim Women- Wpg chapter.
