Ashleigh Banfield ‘85

Former Head Girl and member of Braemar House, Ashleigh Banfield was active in Sports and Model UN while at BH. Today, she is an award-winning veteran journalist, host and creator of the true crime podcast, Drop Dead Serious and the host of Banfield on NewsNation. The program airs weeknights at 10 p.m. ET, offering in depth coverage of the day’s top stories and featuring interviews with newsmakers, politicians, and Celebrities.

Over her 30-year career, Banfield has earned numerous honors, including Emmy, Telly, Iris, Gracie, and National Headliner Awards. Before joining NewsNation, she served as a legal analyst and host for Court TV and was a regular contributor to Investigation Discovery’s ID Murder Mystery series.

Banfield has also hosted several major television programs, including A+E’s prime-time series Live Rescue, HLN’s Primetime Justice with Ashleigh Banfield, and CNN’s Legal View with Ashleigh Banfield. She previously co-anchored CNN’s Early Start and held reporting and anchoring roles at ABC News, contributing to Good Morning America, 20/20, ABC World News Tonight, and Nightline.
