Kristen Gale ’99, former Head Girl, is the award-winning founder and CEO of THE TEN SPOT®, North America's largest and fastest-growing multi-service beauty bar franchise. A trailblazer in both the beauty and franchise sectors, she has built an iconic brand while championing women in entrepreneurship across North America.
At just 24, after being fired from two unpaid internships, Kristen transformed a career setback into the spark that launched an industry-shaping company. With no formal business training, only vision, grit, and an entrepreneurial spirit inspired by her father, she opened the first TEN SPOT in 2006 on Queen Street West in Toronto. What began as a single shop has grown into a network of 40+ beauty bars across Canada and the US, redefining the category with its signature “anti-spa” approach that blends high-end standards with an accessible, fun, and social atmosphere.
Under Kristen’s leadership, THE TEN SPOT® has earned placement on Profit Magazine’s 500 Fastest Growing Companies list for four consecutive years, Entrepreneur’s Top Global Franchise list for two years, and the Canadian Franchise Association’s Franchisees’ Choice Awards for five years running. Personally, Kristen has been recognized as one of Canada’s Top 40 Under 40, featured on Chatelaine’s W100 list of Canada’s powerful women, and selected as one of EY’s Winning Women. She also serves as Past Chair of her YPO Chapter, reflecting her dedication to leadership and peer mentorship.
Kristen's mantra, "LIFE AT A TEN®," fuels both her business and personal philosophy. Passionate about empowering women entrepreneurs to take control of their lives and earning potential, she recently launched the LIFE AT A TEN® online program. This program shares strategies and insights to empower high-achieving women who “have it all” shift to CEO THE SHXT OUT OF LIFE®; from overwhelmed to optimized, thriving in every aspect of their lives.
