Boarding staff work closely with the student-elected Boarding Prefect to promote the participation of boarding students in school activities and organize special events. They also encourage participation in many after-school activities, including the Blazers athletic program. Every weekend an optional activity is planned for students such as attending Royal Winnipeg Ballet, skating, or rock climbing. Other students may opt to go to the movies, bake cookies, or visit a friend’s house. Weekends can be cultural or educational, busy or quiet. but mostly weekends are a time to relax and have fun.
All boarding students are members of Winnipeg Winter Club, a nearby premiere fitness facility. Students have access to tennis, swimming, and fitness equipment. Additionally, students are encouraged to take private music instruction, dance, or equestrian.
Students will experience four very distinct seasons throughout the year. In September the leaves will begin to change colour and soon the snow will fall. Warm winter clothes will be required for the average winter temperature of -25 Celsius. In March everything will melt and the green grass will begin to show. Soon we will be planning a trip to the beach on a day when the average June temperature is +25 Celsius.
