International Baccalaureate (IB)
Balmoral Hall School is an IB World School that begins teaching the International Baccalaureate philosophy in our Primary Years Programme (PYP)
The Primary Years Programme
Balmoral Hall School is the only school in Manitoba authorized to offer the Primary Years Programme (PYP) to students in Kindergarten to Grade 5 (ages 5 to 11).
The programme enriches the Manitoba curriculum with a global focus and an emphasis on trans-disciplinary skills. Students are engaged in an inquiry based program that is designed to foster the development of the whole child. The girls are provided an education that gives them a wealth of knowledge and experience from international schools, built on a relevant and engaging educational framework for all children.
At the heart of the Primary Years Programme is a commitment to structured inquiry as the principal method of learning. This program enables students to develop an understanding of important concepts, acquire essential skills and knowledge, develop particular attitudes and learn to take socially responsible actions.
As young as Junior Kindergarten, Balmoral Hall students, with the IB Learner Profile as their guide, learn the importance of becoming internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet help to create a better more peaceful world.
Our graduates recognize the importance of the attributes of the Learner Profile, first introduced as part of the PYP programme.
