Priority Projects

To further enhance our commitment to sustainability and decrease our collective environmental footprint, we launched a new Sustainability Fund in 2021–2022.

Donations will support the ongoing funding of the following programs and new initiatives:
  • Bike racks and storage locker.
  • On-campus composting program.
  • Student experiential learning (e.g. FortWhyte Alive, The Leaf, Human Rights Museum).
  • Reupholstered 20 pieces of furniture for student seating areas to reuse current furniture rather than disposing to landfill, $11,800. [FUNDED APRIL 2022]
  • More tri-stations for waste/recycling/composting in the atrium, $2,400 ($800 each x 3). [FUNDED MARCH 2022]
  • Recycling boxes for disposable masks to be made available throughout the campus, $1,500. [FUNDED NOVEMBER 2021]
  • Replenished metal cutlery in the dining hall to eliminate the use of plastic cutlery, $250. [FUNDED NOVEMBER 2021]
  • Bicycles, helmets, and locks for boarding students to decrease the use of motor vehicles, $2,100. [FUNDED OCTOBER 2021]
