To further enhance our commitment to sustainability and decrease our collective environmental footprint, we launched a new Sustainability Fund in 2021–2022.
Donations will support the ongoing funding of the following programs and new initiatives:
Bike racks and storage locker.
On-campus composting program.
Student experiential learning (e.g. FortWhyte Alive, The Leaf, Human Rights Museum).
Reupholstered 20 pieces of furniture for student seating areas to reuse current furniture rather than disposing to landfill, $11,800.[FUNDED APRIL 2022]
More tri-stations for waste/recycling/composting in the atrium, $2,400 ($800 each x 3).[FUNDED MARCH 2022]
Recycling boxes for disposable masks to be made available throughout the campus, $1,500.[FUNDED NOVEMBER 2021]
Replenished metal cutlery in the dining hall to eliminate the use of plastic cutlery, $250.[FUNDED NOVEMBER 2021]
Bicycles, helmets, and locks for boarding students to decrease the use of motor vehicles, $2,100.[FUNDED OCTOBER 2021]
