Frequently Asked Questions

List of 7 items.

  • + Where is the Centre for Arts & Design located?

Our new 16,970 sq. ft. centre is a 3-storey building on the riverside of the campus, behind Sifton Family Theatre and adjacent to the Boarding House.
  • + Who benefits from this new facility?

All students from Child Care to Grade 12 have the opportunity to take full advantage of the Centre for Arts & Design. Each of the flexible learning spaces has been designed to complement and enhance current programming. In each space, students are given the opportunity to become actively engaged in designing their educational experience, making learning powerful and memorable. The possibilities are endless!
  • + Why should alumnae support this initiative?

There is a strong tradition of philanthropy at Balmoral Hall School and a desire to “pay it forward” to the next generation of young girls who will make their mark. As a small independent school, we rely on the generosity of our community, past and present, to make projects such as this possible.
  • + Is there a minimum donation amount?

As a special initiative of the Annual Fund, participation is still of utmost importance. Every year, small and large gifts make a huge difference in the lives of our students. If this project resonates with you, consider directing your support to the Centre for Arts & Design. Materials (art supplies, wood, metal) and equipment (view the wish list, new is preferable) are always needed in a STEAM centre and are most welcome. We ask that you contact our philanthropy team in advance, please, to discuss an in-kind gift.
  • + Can I make a pledge over more than one year?

Absolutely, donations of all sizes can be pledged over two years.
  • + How will my gift be recognized?

All donors will receive recognition in school publications and on the website, if public recognition is desired. A donor appreciation board is featured at the entrance to the Centre for Arts & Design. Donations of $2,500 and more will be included. A limited number of naming opportunities for select spaces in the Centre for Arts & Design are still available. Donations can also be made anonymously.
