A DARING START TO A NEW SCHOOL YEAR

Joanne Kamins, Head of School

As we settle into the hustle and bustle of another dynamic school year, it is a good time to pause for a moment to share some thoughts about the incredible energy that characterizes Balmoral Hall.

With our Opening Assembly on September 9, the prefects unveiled a new theme to inspire their peers in 2016/17: “Be what you dare.”

This is an enthusiastic expression of what we do at Balmoral Hall School each and every day. In our classrooms, STEAM labs, and athletic facilities, girls are encouraged to take risks – to excel, to reach, and to lead. That is what it means to be a BH girl.

Before winter break, students will have taken part in a new experiential learning program. This unique curriculum will span from the Forks to Fort Whyte, to our very own Centre for Learning, where we will welcome special guests from University of Manitoba. Still other students will have experienced the long train ride to Churchill, recording scientific data that will be used to better understand the habits of polar bears. They will have given their fundraising efforts to Girls for the Cure.
And they have only just begun.

In my 15 years at Balmoral Hall School, I have never been more excited to witness all of the ways that BH girls are going to change the world.
