Step One: Application Form & Fees

Because we often have waiting lists for entry to Balmoral Hall School, we recommend that you complete and return an Application Form as soon as possible. 

The Application Form and Fees are in the Junior School Admissions Package, now available for download in PDF format, using Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Along with the form, we require the following:

• a non-refundable application fee of $50.00
• a copy of the applicant's birth certificate (if applying for Nursery to Grade 1)
• a copy of the applicant's most recent report card (if applicable)

According to space availability and other factors, applicants are called in for assessment.

Step Two: Interview/Assessment

Nursery, Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten

Early in the registration year, applicant assessments and interviews, tours and parent interviews with the Principal of Junior School are arranged. The assessment takes approximately 30 minutes and is administered by a Junior School teacher. Pre-Entrance forms are mailed to parents for completion before the assessment date, to be returned with a non-refundable assessment fee of $100.00 (no assessment fee for Nursery students).

Grades 1 to 5

Applicant assessment/testing dates, tours and parent interviews with the Principal of Junior School are arranged. Applicants are required to take a half day of standardized testing, which is used as a guide to determine skill base.

Applicants must send the following before testing day:

• a photocopy of their most recent report card
• a non-refundable assessment/testing fee of $100.00

Step Three: An opportunity to see what BH is really like!

All Grades 2 to 5 applicants spend the afternoon of their assessment/testing day with their peers. This event provides an opportunity to spend the day with students in the classroom and experience a school day at BH. During the day, teachers evaluate the applicants in their peer group and interact with each one individually.

Acceptance

Letters will be mailed in early spring indicating acceptance for September. Information regarding the awarding of scholarships and bursaries will be included at that time.

Registration

The signed registration form, enrollment contract, and deposit of $1000.00 ($500.00 for Nursery) are required by the deadline date to confirm registration of your daughter at Balmoral Hall School.
