Balmoral Hall School accepts donations by cash, cheque, Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Parents can also have donations added to their School Account.

Balmoral Hall School is pleased to offer online giving so that at any time of day or night, you can make a secure credit card donation – no paperwork or stamps required! Our online giving is provided by Net Directories Inc. a Toronto-based company that has provided our alumnae an Email Directory since 1999. They have proved to be reliable and trustworthy using an industry-standard Verisign certificate to ensure the security of your credit card information. Donate Securities
Read about the tax advantages of donating stocks or mutual funds to a charity.

Good news for donors - following the elimination of capital gains on donations of publicly traded securities in 2006, gifts of securities is now the most tax efficient way to make a charitable donation and a great way for donors to make a greater impact with their gift.

What counts as publicly listed securities?
Your donation must be of securities that are traded on a public market in Canada or the United States. This includes stocks, bonds, and mutual funds, but excludes shares in a private corporations and stock options.

What are the next steps?
1. Download the Letter of Authorization.
2. Submit the Letter of Authorization to your financial advisor.
3. Securities are transferred to National Bank Financial, 801-400 St. Mary Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4K5.
4. Securities are sold and the donation is forwarded to Balmoral Hall School.
5. Balmoral Hall School sends you a tax receipt.

You can receive a U.S. tax receipt for your donation to BH. Simply address your donation to:

For our U.K. Donors
Balmoral Hall School can now accept gifts from our donors in the U.K. through The Charities Aid Foundation. The Gift Aid Declaration Form allows the Charities Aid Foundation to reclaim the basic rate tax you have already paid, and in turn increase the size of your donation to Balmoral Hall School. Donors who intend to use the Charities Aid Foundation to make a gift to Balmoral Hall School must inform the School of their intent.

Corporate Matching Gifts
Would you like to see your gift do twice as much for Balmoral Hall? If you are a current employee, retired, or the spouse/widow, your company might be willing to match your gift to BH. Check with your human resources department to find out if they will match your gift and ask your company to give you an application form. Fill in the form and enclose it with your gift.

The United Way of Winnipeg
Supporters of Balmoral Hall can ask that their donation to the United Way be directed to Balmoral Hall School. Simply indicate on your gift card that you would like a portion or all of your donation directed to Balmoral Hall School. This is a great way to continue to participate in the United Way's annual drive and support your school.

Gifts of Life Insurance
Many donors have found life insurance to be a rewarding way of making a large future gift while providing tax credits that can be used now. There are three common situations where a gift of life insurance is used in estate planning: donation of an existing policy, purchase of a new policy or designation of the School as the beneficiary of an existing policy. We encourage you to discuss your donation with your financial advisor and to work with our Advancement professionals to make your gift to the School.

Planned Giving
You may also wish to include Balmoral Hall in your estate planning. Planned gifts provide considerable tax advantages. We will send your honouree a card, you will receive a charitable tax receipt, and you will both have the pleasure of knowing that your gift is helping Balmoral Hall School and its students.
