For Alumnae and Grandparents
Meliora Petens Legacy Society
The Meliora Petens Legacy Society recognizes donors who have included Balmoral Hall School in their estate planning and have notified the Advancement Office of their intent, or who have already made an estate gift to the School. Every year, we welcome new members of the BH Family to the Society.
Thanking our Grandparents
The Wisdom Circle at Balmoral Hall School was launched in order to recognize the generosity of our grandparents and former grandparents. Annual gifts received from grandparents support the high level of excellence and innovation in education being offered to their granddaughters. We are very grateful for their commitment to our students.
Alumnae Future Generations Fund Reaches First Milestone
In 2005, a new endowment fund called the Alumnae Future Generations Fund was established by a group of us who attended BH in the 1980s. We are pleased to announce that we have reached our first milestone!
This new endowment created by alumnae for alumnae has reached our initial goal of $25,000. For the first time, this endowment will generate a bursary of almost $1,000 to offset the tuition costs (approximately $11,000) for the daughter of an alumna.
This year, only 10 children of alumnae are attending BH. We would like to see this number increase and believe the Alumnae Future Generations Fund is an excellent way to ensure support for a child, grandchild or great-grandchild of an alumna who, for financial reasons, might not be able to attend BH.
Your continued support of this fund is critical to realizing our long-term goal of never turning away the daughter or granddaughter of an alumna due to financial circumstances. To ensure we reach the necessary funds required to support this exciting initiative, an endowment of this magnitude will require alumnae to not only consider annual gifts but also significant lifetime gifts through their estates.
Like all other endowment funds at the School, The Winnipeg Foundation will manage the Alumnae Future Generations Fund. All donations will grow the fund until it reaches a minimum of $25,000. As the fund grows so too will the bursary amount. To be able to fund a full BH tuition, we will need to raise $250,000.
We believe a BH education is worthy of your support and invite you to join us by pledging an amount that is meaningful to you. We can think of no other gift than a BH education that has a lifelong impact in the life of a deserving young child.
Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who follow.
Meliora Petens,
Aynsley (Hinchliffe) Cockshott ’83, Deborah Morrison ’81, Tannis Leach ’83 and Daunica (Martin) Brock ’83
