| GERRY WILSON - DIRECTOR OF HOCKEY / HEAD COACH VARSITY PREP TEAM |

Gerry brings an extensive hockey background as well as a unique and rich business acumen to his new role as Director of Hockey and Head Coach Varsity Prep Blazers. His playing background includes Junior as well as Collegiate hockey across Canada and the US. Teams included Winnipeg South Blues (MJHL), Calgary Chinooks (AJHL), Calgary Wranglers (WHL), Spokane Flyers (WHL), and the Wisconsin Badgers (NCAA). Gerry’s coaching experience within female hockey spans close to 20 years. He has held head coaching positions at all levels of minor female hockey as well as Midget AA, AAA, and High School. Most recently he coached the Shaftesbury Titans to the finals of the A Division in their first season in the Winnipeg Womens High School Hockey League.
Gerry received a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) from the University of Manitoba with a double major in finance and marketing. He has acquired over 20 years of experience in marketing and strategic planning. This will serve to compliment his hockey background and ensure that the vision of long term growth and excellence within the program is attained. Gerry has been involved in the hockey program at BH since it’s inception. As both a parent and an advisor to the hockey committee he has seen the program evolve into what it is today. He has had three daughters graduate from the hockey program. One at the Varsity Prep level and two at the Junior Varsity Level. This extensive involvement at all levels has allowed him to gain a valuable insight into the female hockey landscape both in Canada and the US.

| ANNE HEDLEY - DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM COORDINATOR / ASSOCIATE COACH VARSITY PREP / FACULTY |

Anne Hedley brings to her role as Development Program Coordinator and Associate Hockey Coach of the Varsity Prep team, many years of hockey experience, particularly as a player. Anne also serves as a faculty member at Balmoral Hall, teaching social studies in the Middle Years, and leads the Junior Skating and Hockey Development Program at BH.
She has competed at many levels of women's hockey ranging from Pee Wee to Senior, including one year with the University of Winnipeg and five years with the University of Manitoba Bisons. She has played in national championships representing both the University of Manitoba (where she won a bronze medal), and the Province of Manitoba.
Anne has served as an Assistant Captain or Captain at virtually every level of competition. She was the Captain of the U of M Bisons in 2006. Anne has used her considerable leadership skills in capacities such as, hockey instructor at the U of M Mini-University camps, and coach in the Manitoba Junior Women's Hockey League, where her team (The Northern Stars) won the championship.
In addition to coaching hockey Anne has dedicated many hours over the years as a volunteer, in such organizations as: Linden Meadows School—Coach for the Grade 7 Girls’ Volleyball Team, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba—Walk for Heart Committee, Movement Centre of Manitoba, Special Olympics Manitoba, University of Manitoba Athletic Council (UMAC), and MS Walk.
Anne has degrees in both Recreation Management and Community Development, and Education. An exemplary student/athlete, she was on the Dean's Honours List at University of Manitoba for 3 years in the faculty of Recreation Management and for 2 years in the faculty of Education. She was an Academic All-Canadian for three of her five years with the U. of M. Bisons.
Hockey was Anne's chosen sport but she has also excelled at rugby in high school and competed at elite levels in Fastpitch Softball.

Began his coaching career as an instructor at the International Goaltenders’ School (IGS), ending up as the head instructor for the final 5 years on tour. Spent 6 seasons in the Minor Peewee and AA Peewee Twins in the Pembina Trail Twins program. He currently runs a AAA Boys Spring League hockey program called Glacial Ice, which runs each year from March until June.
This is Bryan's fourth season with the BH Junior Varsity Hockey team. In addition to leading the Junior Varsity team Bryan is also actively involved with the goaltenders in the Development program as well as the Rugby and Ultimate programs.

Jared Cook is a full-time teacher at Balmoral Hall School. Endeavouring to become more involved in both the academic and athletic development of students, he has dedicated himself to coaching. In December of 2004, he earned his coaching certification from Hockey Canada.
Jared is entering his seventh year as an Assistant Coach and Manager with the Balmoral Hall Junior Varsity Hockey Team and played an integral role in the inception of the hockey program here at BH. He is also actively involved in the Rugby and Ultimate programs at BH.

Ryan joined the Balmoral Hall Blazers Junior Varsity coaching staff at the start of the 2009 academic year. Through the National Coaches Certification Program, Ryan is trained in the areas of Competition and High Performance Coaching. Ryan also holds his Development 1 and Safety certification through Hockey Manitoba.
Ryan is an active power skating instructor and off ice trainer in Winnipeg and surrounding areas. He has ran introduction through advanced power skating courses through the City of Winnipeg Leisure program for three years, has been an employee of Edge of Excellence power skating academy since 2007. He is also the head instructor for Break Away Power Skating, and has worked with teams from St. Boniface, Winnipeg South and eleven teams from the Red River Wild.
Currently Ryan is a Teacher Candidate from the University of Manitoba, with a minor in Physical Education, taking courses relevant to High Performance Coaching. He coaches a AAA boys Spring League Hockey team with the Manitoba Lightning and is head coach for the 1998 team representing Manitoba at the international One Hockey spring tournament in Alberta.

Jennifer Kirk is a full-time teacher at Balmoral Hall School and is entering her 11th year at BH. Before joining the Junior Varsity Hockey Team, Jennifer was actively involved in coaching the Junior Competitive Basketball team for numerous years.
Jennifer is entering her fourth year as School Representative with the Balmoral Hall Junior Varsity Hockey Team. She is also actively involved in the Ultimate program at BH.

A graduate of the University of Manitoba Athletic Therapy Program, Julie has an extensive background in elite level sport both as an athlete and more recently in the Athletic Therapy field. As a member of the Canadian National Team for 5 years, Julie traveled to competitions throughout North America, Europe, Asia and Australia, and also had the opportunity to win a bronze medal at the 1999 Pan American Games in Winnipeg. As an Athletic Therapist she enjoys working with athletes who have similar drive and passion.
Julie continues her academic pursuits working to complete a Master’s degree in biomechanics, and looks forward to a great season with the Blazers.

Off-Ice Strength & Conditioning Trainer, Certified Yoga Instructor, Manitoba Certified Group Fitness Leader, Jr. School PE/HE teacher, B.Ed.
Darlene’s extensive knowledge and experience with fitness, physical education and yoga adds an elite athletic component to the Balmoral Hall Blazers Hockey Program. She has been a fitness leader and trainer in and outside of Manitoba for 26 years and a physical educator at Balmoral Hall School for the past 13 years. Darlene has always been on the cutting edge of new disciplines in fitness. In 1997 she became a certified Hockey Canada coach which enabled her to apply her vast knowledge of fitness to training hockey players. Darlene utilizes hockey-specific training techniques to push participants to a higher level of athleticism while developing speed, power, agility and improved on-ice performance. She has trained male and female hockey players from novice to Midget AAA and High School, and is the off-ice conditioning trainer for Max Hockey School during the summer. Darlene’s strength is blending her diverse experience with a variety of training disciplines into a dynamic, multi-faceted conditioning program.

Paige is currently in her second year of studies at the University of Manitoba, working towards a major in Psychology and minor in Kinesiology. She is co-chair (with Adrienne Leslie- Toogood) for the Manitoba Board of Sports Psychology Association. As co-chair she helps organize meetings, presenters, as well as meets regularly with an Applied Practice Sport Psychology group.
Paige has embraced the exciting opportunity to work with the Balmoral Hall Blazers Hockey team this year under the mentorship of Cal Botterill and is enjoying every minute working with the girls. As a former graduate from St. Mary’s Academy (’09), Paige is able to connect with the girls with respect to an “all girl’s environment”, and the pressures and expectations of studies and homework. Paige has a strong interest in sports, and is excited to be working in the field of sports psychology.
