Balmoral Hall will continue to provide a Skating Skills program component of the Grade 3 – 5 athletic curriculum. This program supports the Manitoba Department of Education and Training initiative of promoting healthier, active lifestyles in students.
All Grade 3 - 5 students will be participating in on-ice skating sessions once a week for a seven week block. Students will be lead through a progression of skills that focus on three fundamental motor skill development areas: agility, balance, and coordination. Emphasis during on-ice sessions will be placed on skill development and participation in activities. The program aims to provide students with a foundation of ice skating skills while furthering their abilities and involvement in skating and overall fitness. The program is coordinated and taught by Ms. Anne Hedley, Development Program Coordinator of the BH Skating and hockey program.
