The Blazers High School Hockey program was created during the 2004-2005 school year as a skills development program. Over the next two years, the program expanded to include a high school team that competed in exhibition games and traveled to Warroad, MN as well as Dryden, ON winning bronze in the Northern Shield tournament.
Since 2007, the Junior Varsity Blazers hockey team has competed within the Winnipeg Women's High School Hockey League (WWHSHL). In just their first year, they finished 2nd in their division, with four players named to All-Star teams, a nomination for the division's Top Rookie, and the winner of the division's Top Goalie award.
The following year, the Junior Varsity Blazers moved to the league's top division and have consistently competed for the league championship ever since. Blazers athletes have been selected to All-Star teams 15 times and nominated / won league awards 7 times.

For the 2011 - 2012 season, the Blazers will remain in the WWHSHL's top division and challenge for a league championship. The team is also scheduled to participate in three tournaments this season, including a trip to Windsor, NS.
The Junior Varsity program includes over 30 scheduled games (excluding playoffs) and over 45 hours of on-ice practice. Also included are strength & conditioning training, and yoga instruction.
