The Blazers Prep Hockey team was incepted in 2006 - 2007 with their first victory coming in their first game against the Thunder Bay Queens. The Prep team has since enjoyed team and individual success with tournament wins being recorded at tournaments such as the Minnesota Thoroughbred, Kyle, Westman, and Saskatoon Tournaments. During the 2008 - 2009 season the Prep team joined the Junior Women’s Hockey League (JWHL) which is comprised of teams from Boston, Vermont, British Columbia, Colorado, Minneapolis, Washington, Alberta, and New York. In their first season in the league the Blazers won the West Division and finished as league finalists. During this same season the Prep hockey team recorded their 100th lifetime win in just three seasons. Individual Prep student-athletes have also enjoyed success with BH player/alumnae being named to a Team Canada Roster 12 times, and 39 times BH player/alumnae being named to a Team Manitoba Roster. In addition to provincial and national level recognition, in the 3 years of the Prep team's existence 19 BH Prep team graduates are playing at the CIS and NCAA level on academic and athletic scholarships.

For the 2009-2010 season the Prep Team will once again include many of Manitoba’s premier female hockey players age 15 to 18 and play exhibition games with CIS Universities, midget female teams in Canada, Under 19 teams from the United States including Shattuck-St. Mary’s School in Minnesota. As a special exhibition game they are also playing against the Swedish National Team in Winnipeg before they depart for Vancouver and the 2010 Winter Olympics.
