Personal Managment & Leadership
The Personal Management and Leadership Pillar embraces the IB Approaches to Learning and provides students with the transdisciplinary skills to enable them to take responsibility for their own learning. This involves articulating, organizing and teaching the student engagement skills, attitudes and practices that students require to become successful learners. Students are actively involved in learning effective study skills and making good decisions using critical thinking skills.
The learning experiences promote the ideals and qualities of an “international-minded person” who strives to be a:
Lifelong Learner
- Demonstrates well developed approaches to learning through effective personal management skills
- Reflective - Gives thoughtful and reflective consideration to their own learning and experience
- Risk taker - Approaches unfamiliar situations and uncertainty with courage and forethought
Inquiring Critical Thinker
- Inquirer - Locates, analyzes, evaluates and synthesizes information through independent and cooperative efforts
- Thinker - Applies thinking skills critically and creatively to recognize and approach complex problems, and make reasoned, ethical decisions
